Hey, not 100% sure here, but I think, you have an error in your calcs.
1tsp = ~0.006 litres
0.006 * 1/15 = 0.0004 litres/query
0.0004 litres/query * 1 billion queries/day = 400.000 litres/day
Which is still a lot, but significantly less, I guess?

That had not at all been the case when a similarly ill man, but a refugee, killed two in Bavaria. For weeks, up to our elections, this tragic event was heavily exploited to push anti-migrant politics.
