running hydration pack - Lemmy.World

Hey! I want to encourage economic activity within Europe and also ethically align with recycled materials etc. I’m trying to buy myself a hydration pack for running long distance with, and it’s hard to convince myself of anything better than osprey: - I’m familiar with the company and they have high standards - they have a great guarantee to repair products - they use recycled materials - the product “Duro 6” fits every requirement that I have Before I go ahead and buy that, can anyone suggest an equal or better product produced in Europe?

Eventually the entire screen is flickering and flashing, but I can’t upload a video.

Weirdly xrandr doesn’t list 3840x1080 as an option, even though the display settings do (and it works fine at that resolution with the default driver).

It does seem pretty stable at 2560x1080, but it looks horrendous, stretched horizontally.

Here are some photos:

artifacts on screen with Nvidia drivers when using an ultrawide monitor - Lemmy.World

Hey everyone, I have a gaming laptop with fedora installed and in general have no problems with it. However I would like to play some games on it from Steam. So I installed the Nvidia drivers and when the laptop is not using an external monitor it’s great, the games performance are 10/10. However I most often use my laptop plugged into an ultrawide monitor and when I do that with the Nvidia driver active all sorts of strangle artifacts show up on the screen and the edges go black and shudder, this slowly gets worse over the course of about 15 minutes until I cannot use the laptop at all and need to reboot. Using the built in drivers the ultrawide monitor is completely fine, but games run very poorly. Does any one have any experience with this, and any idea if there’s something I can do to correct it?

my wife is pregnant and all I feel is worried - Lemmy.World

Hello dads, I’ll be a dad myself shortly, and it’s entirely planned, we discussed the idea and then worked towards making it happen. My wife is over the moon and loving the whole process and I’m struggling to see it as a positive change. All I’m seeing is more bills and tasks. I want to be excited and enthusiastic during the pregnancy (and of course afterwards) but I’m struggling to see this as a positive change for our next - at least - 5 years. It’s causing some stress between my wife and I, when really I’d much prefer we were bonding now in preparation for the stress our relationship is going to need to endure after the baby arrives. I guess this is partly just venting, I feel like anyone I know that I might say this to, would think I’m a bad person considering it was entirely planned and now I’m not feeling it after its too late to undo, but if anyone has some ideas on how I can focus more on the positives (I do see them… watching their personality growing, seeing the world from their fresh perspective, a sense of investment in the future, etc. I just struggle to focus on them) of this and less on the incoming bills and sleepless night and relationship stress, so my wife and I can bond, it’d mean a lot to me. I’m also concerned that I’m seeing the baby as a problem instead of a… Source of joy? and that this might mean I don’t really have a natural parental instinct, so I won’t love it like I should, but instead see it as a series of chores and costs and problems.

I Didn't drink alcohol yesterday - Lemmy.World

Hello everyone, This is my first post here, and I just want to share a small achievement. I find often that if I drank alcohol yesterday I’m much more likely to drink it again today, and yesterday for the first day in around 2 weeks I had no alcohol, this is making it much easier to have none today. Anyway, that’s all, and it’s not a big deal I just wanted to share it.
