Looking back on it, “Different Strokes” did a lot of heavy lifting for my social conscience. #eighties #sitcoms #socialjustice
@georgetakei “Passenger kicked off plane for refusing to take their seat”. Yeah. That seems pretty expected.
Depression just fucking sucks.
@kevin @Faintdreams I mean, I get that you are just some stranger who just got on my mute list, but dude… to say that the CR crew aren’t professional role players is like believing in Santa Claus.
@kevin @Faintdreams yes. For money. They get paid. They are professionals. Words mean things.
@kevin @Faintdreams I also like the hit point/stress mechanic. Reminds me a bit of stress/consequences in Fate, although it is used differently. Oh, and adding armor points into that mix makes for interesting choices and short/medium/long term consequences. Everything doesn’t clear on a long rest, you have to prioritize.
@kevin @Faintdreams I like the point economy between stress, hope, fear, and action. Hope and Fear are generated naturally and there are good ways to spend them, convert them, etc. Stress is a limited resource but can be cleared with hope. It’s more dynamic than spell slots or ki points, but accomplishes the same goal.
@kevin @Faintdreams I like the hope/fear mechanic as applied to combat initiative. It allows for a free flow of play while keeping combat balanced.
@kevin @Faintdreams yeah. I mean, these guys have only been playing RPGs for a couple if decades, and playing professionally for nine years. They can’t possibly actually know anything about or actually care about TTRPGs.
@kevin @Faintdreams the mechanics are pretty damn good?
