One thing about being grounded from long walks is that I have to think/do other things to keep myself busy and take work breaks. I took a book-binding class at our city art center over the weekend. Made a little Turkish map book for a friend who's spending the summer as a digital nomad/new empty nester in Europe this summer to celebrate her 50th birthday and get a break from this country. These books are cool - originally designed as a way to carry large maps in a small book, this miniature one can be used as a travel journal - ephemera like ticket stubs and dried flowers can be placed in the pages, and pages can be written/drawn on as well.
The podiatrist said I have to stop taking my daily walks for 2 month so the plantar fasciitis can heal.

This is hard.

Walking has become a habit - a muscle memory - like breathing or blinking - the bi-lateral stimulation and outdoor movement has carried me through the stress and emotional processing after ending a 23-year relationship a few years ago. So no more lake pics for a while. I’m only on day 2 of not taking 2-3 mile walks each day. Feels like a kind of quarantine since I work from home. I’m finding substitute activities.
