Morning arrived like a harpy with its tail caught in a Faberge egg—exquisite art meets intense execration, and no it wouldn’t explain how it happened or why it’s sitting where my alarm clock ought to be. All I get is the swearing. #BadNoirClassic

** I got a fountain pen and a couple of custom-made notebooks for Christmas, so I thought I'd give you a handwritten story, as a treat.

(It's been ages since I last used a fountain pen, or handwrote something with the aim that it should be legible to anyone but myself.)

I hope you have an enjoyable festive period. **

Duh-oh. Looks like a tool bag went overboard during last week’s U.S. spacewalk to replace one of the trundle bearing assemblies on the port solar alpha array. The object is now listed in the Space-Track catalog as ID 1998-067WC/58229. This happened before, back in 2008. The object poses no danger to the station, and should reenter in a few weeks. Use binoculars to watch for the tool bag as a +6th magnitude ‘star’ currently about a minute ahead of the station.

Astronauts Complete Spacewalk, Dragon Launch Moves to Nov. 7

NASA astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara concluded their spacewalk today at 2:47 p.m. EST after 6 hours and 42 minutes.

@evcricket Tritium seems in a bit of bother. Was this a reliability issue or did their story get too far in front of what they could deliver or something else?
