@admin hi admins, I hadn’t been here since Friday (I think) and today Norton 360 on my iPad is warning me that mastodon is unsafe. Something must have happened in the interim, their report page (screenshot attached) has no reviews or comments, so must be fairly new. Have you heard of any issues? I’ve ignored the warnings to reply to a friend and to send this. I’m not sure whether to use the system until I find out more, but not using it will make it hard to see any replies 😝
and I have some plans for this tiny bunch of leftovers I rescued. Hopefully it works. 🤞🤞
One of my favourite things about this time of year is our visit to the local flower markets. I guess it’s an advantage of having our Christmas during the heat of summer :-) We do go a few times each year but this time of the year is always bigger. We get armfuls of (mostly) native flowers and greenery to liven up the place. Here’s a couple of the bigger bunches and the smallest, possibly cutest bunch.
My lovely Mrs R just brought me home a couple of presents thinking I would love them. She’s such a sweetheart.
No it isn’t vintage film cameras this time but I’m equally excited. I haven’t had a venus fly trap since I was about 10. Now you all get to look forward to some shallow dof freelensing macro photos of them as they grow hahaha - as soon as I get some sphagnum to get them into the nice big pot she brought home for them. Goodness I feel like a kid again, I am so happy 😁
I’ve chatted a lot here but haven’t put up many photos yet, so here’s some to get started, from a walk along part of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. It’s an abandoned rail line going through mostly farm areas to the West of us. There’s some fascinating sights along the way and lots of interesting trees, but lots of them were dead. I plan to walk another section soon then buy myself a new bike and ride more sections of it and other rail trails nearby.
It was solid cloud today so I put b&w film in the camera (fomapan 100, with some HP5 in my bag) and went for an evening walk to get some silhouettes against the bright grey sky.
Naturally the horizon opened enough to produce a magnificent sunset with gorgeous light on some old beach houses I’ve wanted to photograph before developers knock them down. Darn it, only my iPhone is capable so please excuse the disappointing snapshots 🤣🤣
My flowers are out again so it’s time for more freelensing with my helios 44m, wide open of course.
We will be back at our favourite beach soon and I can hardly wait.
I am hoping for some stormy weather again and am going to try and take fewer cameras this time haha
Just a quick first post here, to get started.
