My flowers are out again so it’s time for more freelensing with my helios 44m, wide open of course.
@peterobi these are wonderful! I have not had the best luck freelensing, I admire those who can do it well!!
@suzannepedersen thanks Suz, that’s very kind of you. What do you not like with yours? I just set a close focus on the lens and open up the aperture, wiggle the lens to some funny angles to shift the plane of focus, then move the camera&lens back and forth until something is somewhat in focus. In focus is fairly relative with this lens because it’s a bit hazy :-)
@peterobi I find that I can never find even a tiny bit of focus, unless it’s on the very edge which doesn’t look good in the end. I have used a 50mm, set I think on infinity focus and open it up…maybe I’m doing it wrong lol!!
@suzannepedersen Ah, there’s a difference, I always use very close focus and when moving the lens around it’s almost macro. Sometimes I add a macro adapter to get quite close (because it’s easier than trying to hold the lens out and letting too much light in around/behind it). I’ve never actually tried infinity focus but will give it a go sometime and see if I can get it to work.
