In the heat dome areas - cover all parking lots with solar panels - or just cover them and paint the cover white.
Apartment complexes first.
Grocery stores and other commercial lots later.

@futurebird Why don't a bunch of these players leave the organization? Create a new more inclusive one. The players are the important part, not the org itself.
Why are there gender distinctions in the first part.
Just thinking out loud
Is anyone talking about covering parking lots with solar panels - or just covering them? This would reduce the heat in the vehicles if nothing else - you would use less gas to run the AC. Painting the covering with light / heat resistant paint?
There are light/heat resistant paints out right now.
Planting trees? Arbor Society plants trees. you can buy a tree for yourself - or have a tree planted. https://twitter.com/arborday
- they aren't on mastodon that I'm aware of. The entity that holds the name is a bot, not sure who reads it.
Talk to your local politicians? Go to town meetings and push for more trees? Ask Walmart, or Target or your local grocery store to cover the lot? IDK

https://www.newsweek.com/viral-post-liquid-tree-algae-carbon-dioxide-1792214
This story about the Algae trees for urban areas has gone viral a couple of times.
One of these things replaces 2 10 yr old trees. Meaning the algae which doesn't take 10 years to grow can start replacing Carbon at a faster rate than planting trees would.
Building some of these things and filling them with algae is faster than growing trees. Not better, than trees, but faster. So do some of both. Build ten of these and plant 20 trees. As the trees grow, move these liquid trees and plant trees in it's place. Keep the liquid trees doing what they do. Take CO2 out of the atomsphere.
@DataDrivenMD Right. They are doing this now, with no actual law in place for most users. The law is for medicare users if I understand it correctly. So what happens in 5 yrs time? Will it creep back up? Will they double it?
They should probably set up a formula to adjust the cost based on inputs and labor cost/manufacturing costs. The cost could go up or down based on this public formula.
Make the price sticky - fix it to a whole dollar. $34, $35, $36, $37 etc.
Scientists have discovered that the pace of groundwater depletion in California's Central Valley has accelerated dramatically during the drought as heavy agricultural pumping has drawn down aquifer levels to new lows and now threatens to devastate the underground water reserves.
I'm not sure how to respond.
