Painting (another version of the attached) is sold for £1.15 million. Court rules that the dealer was negligent and the painting should have sold for around £4 million instead.

Here's a fun sale of goods case. Qataris buy $5 million of "antiquities" from a London art dealer, but (as found by the court) they turn out to be fakes.

The court decides that there is no guarantee of authenticity, but that the dealer is liable for negligence (both in tort and in contract).
