On or around 14 Jan, Garmin Connect made a dramatic improvement to it’s Health Kit integration. Prior to 14 Jan it was so bad that I’d turned off most of its write permissions.
Now:
- Recorded weights now have the correct time
- HR is updated every few minutes
- Active Energy is no longer a single data point updated only at 23:59
It’s still not as complete as Rungap’s HK data (Rungap writes map routes and splits), but at least it’s now usable.
It seems like enabling most of 1Blocker’s content blockers resulted in an additional ~6sec of latency added to each page render on macOS Safari 😱
I’ve kept just one content blocker, Block Ads. That’s removed the majority of latency and brought page rendering to be comparable to Firefox’s.
