@notpike In theory, yes. may try soon just to find out

I asked on my other account but no followers on it yet

Has anyone successfully set up an instance on raspberry pi yet?

Is anyone attempting it?

Verifying that this https://mastodon.hasameli.com/@Path is me. Will Also post to my birb account shortly. Expect follows soon
hey @munin trying to register on your instance I get an invalid email addy error on both my personal domain and gmail. can you whitelist my personal please?
@munin I may move to yours temporarily until I can actually spawn one myself
@path I've spawned another instance, and IMO the biggest thing to do would be to normalize the use of diverse instances - remember the old IRC days? Everyone had 'their' server they went to, and - barring netsplits - that's how they talked?
@junglestrike it exists but fairly hidden. To avoid everyone surging to one, it should be the first thing they see. People are generally lazy so they don't seek out other information immediately. Further limited attention spans mean they won't search it out on a page if it's a small link. Similar to a marketing approach, put the information in a quick, easy to digest format for maximum consumption. in this case the info consumption is to use other instances with the least amount of effort
@amasikel so far it's been the best for Android, continuing search as I'm certain that with the heavy tech influx new & improved will be appearing shortly.
@amasikel using tusky here. functional but has some issues. no profile edit, notifications are spotty (get follows but not others with all activated) does have a dark or light theme, does not have a prompt for direct sharing things from other sources
@junglestrike pretty sure the zoo will be as well however, should this take off as it appears to be, the base issue needs to be addressed. When normies pick it up they will lack the ability to spin up new instances. Perhaps a central landing registration page that lists all instances & how they differ allowing the new user to select before they begin. Then forwards registration to appropriate instance. Obviously just an idea but it seems like it would help federation between all
