Somewhat disappointed in the people who are so quick to say that we need to reform Section 230 because "big tech companies are bad," without considering whether or not it would even fix the problem. Too many of my mentions are people who seem to not care about the consequences (and whether or not such reforms would help fix any perceived problem). It's just "company bad, therefore, 230 must be bad."

Think through the details, people.

@notjustbikes I see you've already gotten several "this isn't actually a problem, just..." responses.

Personally, I don't want an algorithmic timeline - I only ever used the chronological timeline on Twitter and hated whenever it switched on me.

However, Twitter did some things much better, like auto-collapsing threads.

Mastodon folks would be better off working to understand this than simply frame all problems as personal and thus the duty to solve them is entirely your own.

I still need to sand down some rough edges, and make sure the edits federate too, but I might actually be almost done with this.  

Oh, and I need to rebase against the new 4.1 release of Mastodon. But I'm trying not to think about that yet.
