I don't know how it took so long for the internet to figure out you can create a bunch of accounts with other people's email addresses just to annoy them. Please stop though 😠
@cassidy And even if *we* don't specifically connect to Threads, people we know who aren't here (yet) might be more likely to join Mastodon if *they* can connect with others on Threads. šŸ¤”

So when I hear, ā€œDefederate from Threads! Don’t let them into the Fediverse! Anyone who federates with them is evil!ā€ I hear, ā€œFuck you, your family, and your friends; you’re not welcome here, and our crusade is more important than both open standards and your personal relationships.ā€

Block Threads all you want but chill tf down demanding other people do.

I’m tired of it. Anyway, I’m done with the Threads meta (heh) for now, and will try to keep future discourse limited to this thread (heh).

Twitter just broke their login. I have never used 2fa with twitter, and even if I did, it should only prompt me for a backup code if I lost my authenticator data. Yet this is the screen that appears after entering my password. That's certainly one way to support migration to mastodon...

Twitter was always a perpetual anger machine, but I don't recall the algorithm actually optimizing for it this hard.
And of course the feed has gained a heavy conservative slant. I would imagine conservatives would see bullshit commie takes, whatever it takes to provoke someone into replying.
Another interesting detail is that there are like 20 project veritas, benshapiro, daily wire and foxnews clip account tweets, but only 3 hasan piker and keffals tweets. All people I do not follow, all from the extreme sides of the political spectrum
There are 2 videos of children getting beat up, someone comparing AOC to Hitler, some andrew tate stuff, anti-vax conspiracy theories
What the fuck is happening to twitter. Half of my feed is people I don't follow, and all of it seems designed to provoke anger and negative reactions to create discussions and conflict at all costs
