Assuming you like the features systemd provides, wouldn’t the community just keeping a non-verified fork of systemd be easier than swapping it out entirely?
No healthcare tho.

I’m not a ROM developer but I had a Motorola phone and I could see why maybe it would have been ignored for custom ROMs, it had a few non-standard features that were great when using the phone, but I think a pain to support, it had a little touchpad in the bottom center that you could swipe your thumb on to do ‘gestures’ in android like back, recent apps, home, etc. I really liked it but its another weird feature you have to keep working when you’re supporting the phone after the manufacturer stopped providing updates.

That’s awesome! Can you describe your set up for vibe coding this? I’d like to take a look at porting postmarketOS linux, or ubports to some phones I have laying around.

Oh great, so there’s should be an economic collapse and housing crash right around the corner!

Nice job! I had a fun one 2 winters ago, the glue on the pressure sensor switch just failed, I’ve never heard of this happening before. (Admittedly I’m not reading stuff about gas furnaces daily, but still…) The black piece and rhw whote piece separated in the pic.

So the gas turns on, and the fan starts speeding up and there’s a pressure switch I guess to make sure there’s gas flowing, and the fan is blowing before igniting and starting the whole reaction, and since the switch wasn’t working, it wouldn’t ignite.

I tried to re glue the 2 plastic halves back together but the glue wasn’t holding, so I just zip tied the hell put of the thing, and its been working great for 2 years so far…

The older I get, the more it seems like the answer to life’s hardships are ‘just make more money’ and I’m just so exhausted of navigating a world where this is the necessary mindset to survive…

Literally everything keeps getting more expensive all the time and its constant. Need to repair something? House/apartment/car/computer/phone/body??? That’s gonna cost ya! Need to eat? That’ll cost ya! Wanna relax, whoops, that’ll cost ya!

I’m tired boss.

Is the steam machine a normal ATX design? I have their original Steam Machine made by Dell, the Alienware Alpha, and it was a custom laptop motherboard with laptop sized DIMM slots.
They probably should do this, just to get the thing sold. Normal users may not have any ddr5 ram laying around or machines they can strip it from, but there’s a subset of geeky users who do. My friend is looking for an upgrade from his aging gaming laptop, and I’m trying to help him plan out what the buy next, it would be great if I could just recommend the steam machine but I have no idea when it’ll actually ship and how much it’ll cost.
