For 2023 first #ThickTrunkTuesday I guess I should go for really thick. These are young, 150 year old, redwoods (Sequoiadendron giganteum) at Benmore Botanic Garden Scotland.

This old pine (Pinus sylvestris) grows on top of a rock. Over the years it has been regularly used by great spotted woodpeckers (Dendrocopos major) to hold the pine cones while it extracts their seeds.

This advanced web layout doesn't btw. take account the screen aspect ratio very well. Huge amount of wasted space on 21:9 screens.
