I've just been reminded that I have a space in here, and it's a nice thought since there is now a new landlord in the other space. A return to the quiet thinking and sharing is perhaps overdue.
I was clearing out old bookmarks when I stumbled on my Mastodon link. I had forgotten how this space felt. I might return to crawling back in here in moments when I need to quietly listen to quiet thinking.
hello darkness my old friend. Felt like I needed a quieter dark corner for a bit

@katebowles @lauraritchie Have been silently reading. Recently saw the writing on the wall - in a small area in a previously v run-down part of Johannesburg where bold people are achieving people-embracing urban regeneration. Musicians, art, food, conversation and free chalk to write on this wall. Most want riches and travel. Two entries struck me:

Laughed a little when I read this today: http://marcuselliott.co.uk/education/singing-along-but-i-dont-know-the-words/
I have been trying to write a mere 6000 words for weeks (in between work, that is) and had just looked at them and thought that, collectively, they sound like karoake to me ...
In this dark quiet place to lick my wounds before I own that awful sound and start again.
New buttons? Feel like a teenager in front of a washing machine... Need to find the manual.
Do people know about Audrey Watters/Kin Lane's podcast? If you're not on board yet it's a good listen on the politics of ed tech (and the ed tech of politics, increasingly): https://soundcloud.com/kinlane
:-D lost all authenticity ;-)
Better mood now. Will let the cat back in again.
cat + coffee = parts of chapter lost forever...
It was a plan. https://mastodon.social/media/18481
Curious aspects of early days is unquestioning reciprocity of 'follows' - like: If you've found your way here already you must be kinda alright. Would be fun to compare SNA on here and Twitter. My growing feeling is that Twitter lets me listen to any 'public' conversation, but here it might be just plain eavesdropping. ;-) Wondering about the idea of a quiet space to build ideas and how that reconciles with openness... #feelingresponsibilityofmyFollowclicks.
