The
#TickTockBan
is handled the same way as the plastic bag ban at grocery stores. Good idea, poorly implemented, no alternative, no input from the people, and illogical reasons behind it. It doesn't stop at the bags, it doesn't stop at the apps, it doesn't stop with "Chinese".

TikTok's security threat was internal. The security threat was the people. Not the app. We were united, they were afraid, we didn't vote. This was not a security threat simply due to server location. If it was, we have so many methods to bypass that threat that is not just banning the thing. This was a power move that was a misjudgment and should not be blindly accepted as one made for the people's best interest.

Well that's fun... #TikTokBan
@train I can see some wasted resources, but, I'm sure there are physical reasons and expandability... But that's way overkill for a router, you could reduce it to one switch, your Plex could be on the Terramaster with more storage, and even all of those services could be run on just two servers for redundancy at most. Otherwise, I only wish I had that TPLink SomeBullshit. Heard good things.
@DJ_Fortissimo I've had your EXACT situation happen to me with trying out linux and all that. It took a couple linux classes to really understand how some things work. Right now, I dual boot to Kali Linux and unless I'm trying to game, it's my go-to. I also have an XP-Pen/CSP combo but I also can't get it to run. The installer is just not great for linux. Everything else? Butter. With the added benefit of looking like a hacker when it boots.
Got the new Btech RPT50 GMRS Repeater! Testing it out, testing the range, and seeing if it was worth it... Put it in my server rack along with my mini-server!

@blog I tried doing this with my Samsung. You can use Dex like a desktop. They even make a KVM laptop (Lapdock) that has just keyboard, mouse, and monitor, and you can plug in your phone as a dock.

90% of my use, even as a nerd, was all online.

Did it work for me? No. I now have 15 computers around the house. For others with basic browser use, maybe. Office apps and teleworking just increase your demand for a PC.

@[email protected] Coming from Reddit myself, I tried Kbin and Lemmy but it just didn't hit the same. I've stuck with Mastodon even if I wasn't a Twitter user. The population of both people, interests, and interaction just seems better. And the interface is more friendly. The threadiverse is nice but it lacks the doom scrolling. Haven't been back to Reddit other than finding answers on Google that link me there and I have no other choice.
@ironicbadger Thank you for your kind words! I just posted the rough draft of this idea on Thingiverse. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6479227
Lenovo Mini PC Thinkcentre M93p Tiny PC Quad Stack Rack Mount by RubeHicksCube

WIP*** I needed a solution for grouping a mini-PC stack I have of 4 Thinkcentres. Maybe you don't have 4 PCs but it can still help stack a couple of them. Remix it, and cut it in half. There are already screw holes in the back of the chassis of each PC. Optionally there are top/bottom covers that slide in to place. These are not necessary for the build but can help reduce scratching of your PC's. The nubs on the side are for a TP-Link 8 port switch. But might fit other wall-mount slots.

@ironicbadger I thought the same thing and it is in the works! Currently modeling the first iteration and testing out the first print for scale, which was just barely too small. Printing the second test now.

After the size all goes well then I will make a thicker rack with spots for the power supply's, and then additions for the switch.

Once all that goes well I'm hoping to expand to the whole NAS et all!
