@DosFox psst. Does your Lisa clone want to run some 1982 software that until now was only available on a Twiggy disk? https://lisalist2.com/index.php/topic,87.msg4379.html#msg4379

Knowing the Sharp PC-3000 had an optional 2MB RAM upgrade, and that there were two unpopulated pads above the existing two 512KB RAM chips, I figured it was worth a shot and soldered on two more chips. Unit booted up, BIOS memory tests confirmed the successful upgrade, and the built in diagnostics seem pleased as well. #RetroComputing

@splorp You have Russ Uzes' Cadillac prototype with the ECTIC Diags card, right?

One of the dev units DonS shared on the mailing list has a PCB sticking out, with cards of the same size as that Cadillac, the socket for them says "519-0764 ROM". That matches what can be see on Jim Abeles' clear case Cadillac.

This makes me optimistic that the pinout of the cards could be figured out from DonS's hardware, and we could then effortlessly dump Russ's cards...

@stevenf I saw on the NewtonTalk mailing list you tried to use ROM Soup earlier in the year and couldn’t due to 32-bit. Oddly I tried to use it the same day - guess we both saw the origins of OS X poof animation and were skeptical.

ROM Soup should be 64bit now, and Leibniz too, and while I was there I emscriptened it: https://pablomarx.github.io/Leibniz/

@bert Did the VM sources for the NoteTaker survive? I see the IOP listings on bitsavers, but nothing for the VM.

@bert From “Reviving Smalltalk-78” : “The Smalltalk-76 sources file we found was “Smalltalk.Sources.5.5k” from November 22, 1980.”

I managed to get better sources out of that system and have posted them here: https://github.com/pablomarx/Smalltalk76
