An introduction. I am an historian of early modern Europe with a particular interest in what went on in the German lands. My research explores different aspects of scholarly culture, university history, religious conversion and print. I am currently working on a book on religious conversion among scholars in early modern Germany. I am P.I. of 'Malcontents: Order and Disorder in the Early Modern World of Learning,' a recently commenced project funded by an Irish Research Council Laureate Award (2022-26). #histodon#earlymodern
As a historian working on collections in Renaissance Venice, let me inform you that there are too many Contarinis. Far too many. And trying to trace a female member of the family? Sigh. #histodons#earlymodern#renaissance#Venezia@histodons
My mum likes trivia but I suggested she try out Duolingo instead. She is now addicted to learning French and I am both sad and grateful that I don't share her addictive personality. The owl and I will continue to plod along at a snail's pace while I learn some Italian. Slowly and badly.
LGBTIQA+ ally training that I helped run for library colleagues may have ended in discussions of planning collective action for (more) all gender bathrooms and protests against TERFs 😌🏳️⚧️📚✊️
