@cedled I don't have one yet. I'll make one later. I was able to create a CalcKey account a few weeks ago and haven't been back since when I went to my Home and it was already populated but haven't followed anyone yet.πŸ˜† It's probably just a setting though. I will go back there once I have my masto list.
Still don't know where I'm moving once my current instance closes. 🀷

I'm back because not every cough is as excruciating as it was. Got sniped when it rained a few days ago. I was under our tarp and by the afternoon, I got the sniffles and came the worst.

Ready for another bout.lol

What's up madlang fediverse!😁

This is the first time I've seen something on the Announcement tab and it's...πŸ˜…

Where to go now?

@teacherbuknoy And it's not only about the internet connection, their servers go down at the most inconvenient times as well. That's why I always cash out before spending.
@DocCarms Who came up with that?
@dhepworth I understand what you are saying. Moving is always a bit cumbersome and yes, re stability, it knocked a few points from Mastodon but it is still miles ahead of the birdsite. I think the best solution to this is self-hosting which I am seriously considering because of the news. I have a domain, 6USD a month on MastoHost and I'll (probably) never have to move again. But, I might hold out for SpaceHost a bit.

@dhepworth Moving instances is fairly easy and not as complicated as changing numbers. When I first moved instances, I don't even have to update my links because my old instance automatically points to my new instance. Mastodon is a better alternative, not a clone, and it's core is the federation which the birdsite isn't.

Personally, the choice on staying on this platform is mainly driven by not supporting someone who promotes Nazism among other horrible things. πŸ˜‰

Seeing a toot from your instance owner thinking about closing it down because of moderation and instance wars, which I have no idea what it's about, is not the best toot to read after coming back from a scorching and very draining market run.

But, bec it's Mastodon, I can just move to another instance. A hassle if it comes to it but hopefully everything works out fine.
