I'm having way too much fun generating fictional Pythonista collectibles with ChatGPT. The text quality degrades noticeably in smaller details, but this still feels completely magical to me, especially given that all this was generated from *very* basic prompts.
I didn't even have to explain what Pythonista is or specify any of the text on the boxes. This is literally the entire prompt. Pretty mind-boggling.
I asked ChatGPT to imagine Pythonista as an 80s/90s software box. It's really quite impressive how the new model produces pretty much any text in images almost flawlessly. 🤯
Pythonista Lab has been approved for beta testing by Apple now, and I've sent out the first batch of TestFlight invites. 🥳 Signup is still open:

Apple has just rejected my beta of Pythonista Lab because they have "recently identified that the app is subject to US sanctions regulations". No real further explanation. 🤬
I've uploaded the first TestFlight beta of Pythonista Lab on Tuesday, but it's still waiting for review… So if you'd like to be among the first to try it, once Apple (hopefully) approves it, you can still sign up here:

How I went to skeuomorphism and back again with the Pythonista Lab icon... I used each of these for at least several weeks during development and thought they were "fine", but I'm actually quite happy now with the final(?) result.
The video is now also on YouTube, if you want to feed the algorithm some engagement time:

I've made a new demo video for Pythonista Lab, this time in dark mode, and I also have a basic website now. You can sign up for the beta (coming soon) here:

#Python New Year (it's the year of the snake) - even if you do not celebrate the lunar new year I wish you a prosperous and abundant year, especially regarding knowledge and happiness.
