@fossham I apologize for the delay. Your question is valid. In my opinion, it's just that big services and log apps don't want to introduce anything new. There is an alternative: ADX, the XML form of ADIF with UTF-8 support. Yet for reasons unknown to me, everyone keeps insisting on ADI. If one or two major services promoted something new, things would change. What is currently being prepared for ADI is, in my view, the biggest hack I’ve seen in my professional career.

@jeffpc Isn't it time to worry about the ADIF? After the statement of one of the ADIF voters, I have such concerns. His opinion on adding new fields to ADIF is "If there was a proposal to add a <SHOESIZE> fields because one or two applications want to record shoe sizes during QSOs and interchange that information, I'd support it. Other than the ADIF Secretary's time, there is no cost."
