@carnage4life People may probably have thought similar of Google in its early days. Didn't Google try to sell itself?
Then they figured out a "fantastic" model and executed like "machines". Maybe that's the bet with Perplexity.
If it fails it will be an orphan, having no "father". If it succeeds, it will have many "fathers".

@carnage4life I'll also add that "auto-rationalisations" are also happening in that industry where game studios shrink or shut, without being acquired, or prices rise not as a result of an acquisition.
