It's a damning realisation that the idea of India you were led to believe ever since childhood was nothing but a grand old myth. A myth which was shaped by the insecure majoritarian narrative by hiding the very many vices and exaggerating the few virtues. For someone like me, it took a lot of years of unlearning to finally understand the reality of this society.
Better late than never, I suppose.
This is a historic day for the Hindu Rashtra, a narrow political vision built on hate, false history, and the use of violence to force adherence to majoritarian norms.
