Back to Warsaw for the break and my taxi driver was a 🇺🇦 guy from Lviv. War surprised him while he was here & he didn't come back home as he'd be drafted into the army. His neighbour, former truck driver, was drafted, and now is dead. Immediate reminder the war is just next door.

Yesterday was informed that I got a 6 months extension of my PhD scholarship due to COVID. I cannot express how relieved I am. Thanks, Polish grant authority!

The #Zeitenwende essay by Olaf Scholz in the Foreign Affairs
will surely be torn apart in the future PhDs. Instead of an epochal text of its time, it reads more like a PR piece written by someone in the PM's office. And, dear reader, it is not a good piece.

@VicTurk I think I am spoiled from that point of view: most of the Polish and French newspapers are digitalised in one (to each) place, in the Polish case in a totally free access. Ah, the differences when compared to Anglosphere...
