Father, husband, web designer, musician, geek, foodie. That's about it. He/him.
@akmur Thank you for the heads up, and thanks for hosting this experiment while it was open!
@akmur I use them only infrequently even when they exist (because I’m not often on my computer at night), but I do agree it might make sense for it to become a standard feature. Good exercise for designers and css authors, too.
@anthracite I’m using a Firefox extension that creates burners that forward to my primary, which I can toggle on and off individually. Combine that with a password manager and everything is golden.

@Annalee @freakboy3742 The point about Arab users was the one I had in my head in particular.

This hasn’t been an issue in anything I’ve worked on in the past, so thank you both for bringing it up and making me aware of it as a problem. I’ll look for opportunities in future projects to be more mindful of users’ names and name preferences.

@Annalee @freakboy3742 What’s the fix? Are there good ways to auto-detect double-barreled surnames? What if (as in your case, Annalee) they aren’t hyphenated?

@Shutsumon Start with JavaScript. You can learn good, solid fundamentals and even use just JS along with your HTML & CSS to make web apps using Electron.

After that, PHP isn’t a bad choice for web technology but Python or Ruby (on Rails) would also be good.

@ChrisWere Much better than my day yesterday, when I boiled the kettle, took it off the burner, and forgot to make tea for three hours.

I had a nice cup right before lunch, though.

@noelle Sooo... Necromancy should actually be Necroturgy?
@maloki This is a really interesting question that I’ve been thinking a lot about over the last few weeks. What’s the difference—or, where is the line—between self-care and self-indulgence?
@venko We’ve gone too far
