the reason i care so much about #privacy is that i don’t trust my government not to turn into an authoritarian police state given the opportunity, and companies are already as authoritarian and manipulative as they can be so i don’t want to give them more power. even if they never target me directly, they’ll target other people and maybe people i care about and thats too much
@zaibatsu finally something sensible
@ProtonDrive @protonmail @Stark9837 i had no clue there were so many proton products. i used to use their email before the climate activist case

What do #Meta get from harvesting all that #Threads and #Fediverse data?

Well, they can build a detailed profile on your interests.

What value do they get from knowing your interests?

Well, with this data, they can nano-target you. That is, with no other PII, they can individually identify you.

This can get pretty nasty, pretty fast.

EU's DMA and other related laws are our shield. Other countries should take note. We must remain vigilant to the coming storm.

@DaddyStoat someone said that musk might be trying to purposely make twitter bankrupt so he doesn't lose any more money and i think they may be right
do you ever wonder in a parallel world people call a number an umber
@maxkennerly finally a social media that the people want
@EternalOutsider I do understand where coming from, lots of people (including all of my friends) dont care at all about privacy. But you don't have to learn hopelessness, there still is lots of things you can feasibly do. If you're interested (which you don't need to be btw), I would recommend mental outlaw or the hated one on youtube
i fixed #threads privacy policy:
@alal no doubt
