Colorful houses.
Taken while touring downtown Reykjavik on our first day in Iceland. Not exactly sure what it is about it that made me take the photo (and later post it) … just sort of cool. Maybe things don’t need reasons.
Monument to the Unknown Bureaucrat.
Sculpted by Magnús Tómasson in 1994, located just outside the Reykjavik Official Tourist Information Center, stands the Monument to the Unknown Bureaucrat. All business downstairs, a huge slab of Icelandic basalt upstairs.
Drop in.
Meanwhile, in downtown Reykjavik.
Only able to spend a little time in the city but this feels like some good advice … drop in. Hoping to get back there again soon, spend a little more time exploring the city.
Perlan dome.
Forgot to post this one from the Perlan Museum before moving along further into Reykjavik.
Straight shot from the camera, no edits.
Fiddling around with the Leica D-Lux 8 this morning. Feels like it will be a fun “every day” camera. Juno was nice enough to pose.
Hallgrimskirkja photo.
While poking about the less populated places within the Hallgrimskirkja Cathedral, found these beautiful black and white photos hung in the one side hall.
Hallgrimskirkja arches.
Spent some time in the Hallgrimskirkja cathedral in Reykjavik, Iceland. Took a moment to break from the group and explore the less frequented bits … like this lovely little side hall.
Switching locations to the Hallgrimskirkja cathedral in Reykjavik, Iceland. Never has there been a more viking looking thing. Pretty awe inspiring from the outside, then I looked up from within and saw this.
Perlan Deck.
Shot from the Perlan Museum observation deck of the Perlan Museum observation deck. Some dramatic editing to enhance the metallic drama.
