just to try it out, I threw CachyOS on the SSD, installed ‘gaming packages’, logged into Steam and three minutes later I’d downloaded and started a 20GB Windows native AAA game with no other drama
22h and no faults, i think shes ready to be built
an unfortunate side effect of using a big stupid cooler was this minor conflict with the RAM’s ridiculous oversized heat spreaders. not the end of the world.

the CPU fan sounds terrible but the exhaust fan is spinning at a lively 150RPM, occasionally its LED goes out and it stops
not immediately sure i want to try removing the CPU cooler, so instead im throwing the GPU and RAM back in, let’s just power it up and let the BIOS tell us what’s up
