@Migueldeicaza The outlet mall is still under control of the same guy just a different set of restrictions.
Let the user decide how they transact with a third party. Apple can still keep their walled garden but not on a per transaction basis.
@Migueldeicaza Key difference is that anyone is allowed to build another mall or venue but are unable to because the current mall owner doesn't allow it and removes the choice of shopping anywhere else.
Demands a cut of all sales and then tells you they are the only one who can provide value as they prevent anyone else from doing it.
I usually don't like to add to the fire but automatic high beam is another feature that needs to be pulled back until it works well or as in Europe where the light adjusts based on angle. Tesla glorified adaptive cruise control with lane keep assist is just the tip of the iceberg.
Add HVAC controls behind menus or shitty infotainment systems when these things can be just buttons that can't be felt or via muscle memory toggled.
@arstechnica They could always bring back Jabber until Facebook and Google killed it off. Now all the sudden we are back over a decade later begging for a solution because folks are behind a walled garden.
It's all pretty rich. It's by design and supporting iMessage even in this way shouldn't be allowed. Open standards or nothing.
@filipe @signalapp I wonder if they consider a $1 app fee as a form of verification instead of using SMS with the user paying the fee.
No different than accepting card for donation but instead tied to one time validation. This voids the need for SMS.
