One thing that's very interesting is that Thiel sees the Republican party losing long term in a way I've suspected could eventually happen. He worries that the Republican party become Dem lite because he worries the extremism, the lack of substantive policy proposals, won't work. I see that as a good thing but if it were to happen I'd expect center dems and center Rs realigning to keep down the left's proposals.

"What does he priest, and the general, and the millionaire what do those three people actually have in common if they sort of meet in a smoke filled room and you know hatch out their plots?"

Haven't watched all but Thiel recently spoke at the Reagan Library for the "A Time for Choosing" series and so far he's lamenting how they lost the midterms. It appears he's going to give his strategy moving forward

Binary works well with computers because they're easier to build. The state is on or it's off. There is no middle state. There are no degrees. Like a light switch it's on or off.

In the Soviet Union they built a ternary base 3 computer in the 1950s which has more than an on and an off state.

A professor of mine always hoped that we'd someday build computers out of operational amplifiers so that we could deal not just 0 and 1 but fractional states in between.

I remember walking around an art college where I didn't attend and saw someone affixed a small version of this painting to the inside of an elevator door button. That place had all kinds of small gems placed around for people to enjoy. None of it used for advertising. It's too bad there's not more of that kind of thing around in the world.

This looks more like an advertisement.
