I would still be surprised if the Mullins nomination fails…
But, wait, wtf is up with the undisclosed trips to Azerbaijan? Does any news outlet want to follow up on why a senator who never served in the military or any intelligence agency had a history of “classified” trips to foreign countries?
Seems odd.
The things about being an AI “skeptic” is that…well…shouldn’t everyone be a skeptic? The entire AI pitch is “here’s a magic black box that will solve all your problems and don’t worry if it loses money and wastes resources today because any second now it will make you immortal.”
Yeah, that sounds like something you *should* be skeptical about.

Peteranother way "AI" is like crypto is dudes are like "this is awesome, you have to do it!!" and you're like "ok, but isn't a ton of it scams, fraud, and puts me in danger of getting hacked?" and they are like "yeah, but all you have to do is [HUGE LIST OF CONVOLUTED NEW INFOSEC THINGS TO LEARN]"
yeah, i am not doing that.
And I am, again, left to wonder what it must be like to lack the awareness or shame to be capable of embarrassment. Because that’s the only way you can serve in this administration.
“You guys are such losers. I don’t want you to come to my party anyway. I don’t need you. I only invited you as a joke. I can’t believe you thought I was serious. You guys look so dumb!”
“Coal is practical. Solar and wind power are just hippy-dippy nonsense.”
“War is practical. Diplomacy and negotiation are just hippy-dippy nonsense.”
“Market solutions are practical. Social welfare is just hippy-dippy nonsense.”
Hmm, I think there might be a pattern here.
Watching the administration this morning is a lot like watching the series finale of Kevin Can Fuck Himself.
I would say we’re at the “Kevin starts making phone calls” part of the episode.
I’ve started reading The Wheel of Time series because right now an insanely long fantasy book series that I may or may not be able to finish before I die sounds pretty perfect.
Remember when Trump mocked the UK for sending an aircraft carrier, saying we don’t need the help. Was that even a week ago? The speed of the stupidity is truly marveling.
