@eduo @dmitriid It is Apples decision, but that is kind of besides the point.
If we create laws that introduces massive tradeoffs for Apple to release features in the EU, then of course there will be features they skip here.
Then proponents of the DMA might say its worth it, thats fine. I personally don’t think it’s worth it since we have gained almost nothing from this law and instead we lose out on useful features.
@dmitriid So to summarize, on the plus side:
• Give us the option to choose Maps app
On the minus side:
• No Siri AI
• No iPhone Screen mirroring
• No Live Activites on Mac
• Any future delayed features and producs
No, the DMA is not worth it imo.
@dmitriid You don’t seem to understand what I’m saying, or maybe you don’t want to. I don’t agree with everyting Apple does, but here I can understand their point of view.
But again, it doesnt matter what I think. What matters are the business realities that regulation creates. And when it comes to the DMA I don’t like the outcome.
@dmitriid you are really bringing the discussion down to an embarrassing level by implying that people you don’t agree with are idiots.
I don’t agree with you, but I respect your opinion. Shape up.
@dmitriid You are the one putting all the emotions in. It’s not about innocence or guilt. It’s about business realities.
We create laws that makes companies want to limit their business here. Yeah we can do that but we also suffer from the consequences in this case.
