Whenever a song from Nashville Skyline (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nashville_Skyline) comes up on Apple Music, I always see a hidden “play” icon. It’s a triangle formed in the negative space between the crook of Dylan’s elbow, where his hand meets his hat, and neck meets his shoulder.
Maybe you can’t un-see it now, like me.
These photos were taken Friday afternoon, when we started harvesting apricots off our backyard tree. By Sunday we filled a whole bucket, and we’ll be blanching the fruits and freezing them for recipes next.
After that, it’s apricot cobbler, apricot salsa, apricot jam…maybe some other fun stuff too.
Yesterday afternoon Eleanor and I had a family member babysit our kid and we headed to the patio at Canteen Brewhouse to catch Radio Free ABQ. Their sound is “indie rock + Americana + desert noir” and here’s how they describe their influences:

"While Georgia O’Keeffe was holding up a small pelvic bone of a gray fox against the New Mexico sky, framing the landscape and imagining the curve of the bone on a vast scale, Henry Moore, eleven years her ... https://nicksimson.com/notes/okeefe-moore/
Morning ascent in Albuquerque, NM.
We got up early and headed to North Domingo Baca Park, binoculars in hand. This is my first time being in town for the International Balloon Fiesta.
Visited Title Wave Books, Revised this morning and found a copy of ‘Killing the Buddha’ for 25 cents. This is the original hardcover with ❌ dust jacket by Paul Sahre.
Also picked out some picture books with the kiddo. https://www.titlewavebooks.com/
