124 years ago (Sept 10, 1898) Luigi Lucheni, an Italian anarchist, stabs to death Empress Elisabeth, the consort of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary.
Lucheni for his act received a life sentence, after the trial he shouted "Long live anarchy! Down with the aristocrats!".

121 years ago (Sept. 6, 1901) Leon Czolgosz, an American anarchist of Polish descent, fatally shot the US President William McKinley. The president died on September 14 due to infected wound. Czolgosz was quickly tried, convicted, and executed on October 29. His last words were: "I killed the President because he was the enemy of the good people, the good working people. I am not sorry for my crime."
