I'm thinking of moving servers to sfba.social as I live in the SF Bay Area and more people close to where I live will be browsable via "local". Still need to learn the steps to do that.

I checked out the fediverse some time ago and it seemed like a ghost town. Now that some people I want to follow are actually here it could get much more interesting. Network effects can be a problem, but once critical mass is achieved ...

Not sure that federated Mastodon servers can really replace Twitter, but if Elon succeeds in imploding it it will have to do.
