While following a lot of people can populate your Home feed significantly, sometimes people (like me) end up boosting a lot and that can unexpectedly hinder your own experience.
So if you like someone's specific posts and don't want to follow their boosts, you can go to their profile under the [...] button, and select the "Hide boosts from account" button.
There is no algorithm on Mastodon. You have ownership and control over every filtering decision instead of some robot.

Wonderful collection of music/art/philosophy essays on what experimentation actually means in music/arts practice. The physical book is no longer available (I spent a stupid amount on this) but the pdf is only £5 from the publisher (and yes - I bought that too).
Completely recommend the book.

/home/coleWhile horses can go through some phases of sleep standing up. They do require REM sleep and that is done laying down. They need at least 30 minutes per day of REM sleep but many do for 2-4 hours per day.
If you see a field of horses and some are lying down on their sides they're probably just sleeping. You'll see some 'standing guard' over their friends. They seem to love to do this on warm, sunny days in the spring and fall especially.
