These companies created thousands of crawlers incorporating the text of all my blog posts, open source code, and books into their paid AI models to profit exorbitantly.

#til exiftool has an easy way to fix dates on a bulk set of image files.

In early January, I had to reset my camera, and entered that date wrong - 2025 instead of 2026 .

To add 1 year to the dates in all the photos I took:

exiftool -DateTimeOriginal+='1:0:0 0:0:0' .

Start by installing a ready-to-go desktop version (ghostbsd) and don't worry about the the desktop layers. Or, start with a desktop linux - _most_ of the tech is the same.

As you start daily driving, you will become familiar with what the different layers are doing. It may help to "distro hop" a few times to try out different technologies. One of my personal favorites is OpenBSD with XFCE.

Just jump in, the water is fine.
