“Such a long, long time to be gone and a short time to be there.” RIP Phil. 😢
@rowjimmy right on. Thanks for sharing this. 🕉️🕯️
@mrcompletely Thanks for this. I did not know. Couldn’t have been more timely as I have an order in my cart and was going to check out this evening. Won’t be placing that order & will check out Sticker Ninja instead.

Really enjoyed (livestream) the #GratefulBall set during the #DelMcCoury show last night, esp. Cumberland, BE Women, & Midnight Moonlight & Cold R&S (w/ Del)

Excited to see #RonnieMcCoury #PeterRowan #SamGrisman #DavidNelson among others at the opening weekend of the #JerryGarcia exhibit at the #BluegrassHallOfFame .

The stories these guys have; like Jerry telling Ronnie backstage at a Caps Centre show about seeing Del with Bill Monroe when Jerry wanted to be one of Bill’s Bluegrass Boys. 🪕

@mythologyandhistory somewhat reminiscent of the old folk song Jack-a-Roe https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Monroe_(song)

Sea ice frost flowers: These delicate, spiky ice crystals form on young sea ice in extremely cold, calm conditions. They're created when moisture from the seawater rises into the frigid air and condenses around imperfections in the ice surface. As more water vapor freezes, the crystals grow outwards, forming intricate, branching structures that can reach several centimeters in height.

Bluegrass Hall of Fame launching Jerry Garcia exhibit and Celebration Weekend in March - Bluegrass Today

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum has announced the opening of a new exhibit, Jerry Garcia: A Bluegrass Journey Exhibition.

Bluegrass Today
Thoroughly enjoying the livestream of #EarlScrugg’s 100th birthday celebration from the Ryman with Jerry Douglas, Del McCoury, Sam Bush, Michael Cleveland, Tony Trischka, Bela Fleck, Sierra Hull, Bryan Sutton, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, etc. - so much talent honoring one of the two dads of bluegrass, as Tommy Goldsmith put it.
Comparisons are odious and recency bias is real, but for my subjective tastes & likings, last night’s (12/29) YEMSG checked all the boxes for me and exemplifies why I still love the #phish from Vermont.
