Only did 770s but I believe they should be very similar.

Got myself both ends of 4-pin mini XLR for 5€ at Thomann (Rean RT4 MPR / RT4 FC-B) and used a drill press to make the hole bigger on the headphone casing for the plug.

Internally the right earplug might have the cable colors swapped, which can be jarring to hear if you accidently reverse the polarity.

What took me the longest was soldering the plug and cable.
In total around 1-3 hours depending on how much goes wrong?
