Nascent radio operator in Pittsburgh, PA. Licensed for just over a year, I enjoy FT8 and APRS, and am active with my local club. Future goals include becoming a VE, learning CW, and Moon Bounce.

@g7kse themes definitely gave me the most issues last time I tried to play around with Hugo. Themes are so tightly coupled with the rest of Hugo that if I ever try to make a Hugo site again I think I’ll just roll my own theme from the start.
Too many rabbit holes to fall down with customizing someone else’s theme to be what I’d want it to be.

I’ve heard a lot of people sing the praises of C4FM’s audio quality, but I don’t hear it. It’s clear, sure, but it’s also warblely and sounds like a robot trying to impersonate a person’s voice. Like the old Macintosh text to speech program from the 90’s.

I’m on a Wires-X net right now and some hams I know are checking in, I can kinda recognize their voice but takes me a minute.

@HopelessDemigod nice! How do you like it? Any tips or tricks to share?
Trying out my new FT-70D in the park.

Would someone like to help me spend money on some good solder?

I just ordered a the new QRP Labs QMX kit and I know from building the QCX Mini in Feburary that I'm going to run out of the solder I have before I can complete the QMX. I think I'd prefer something thinner, I had been using 0.8mm diameter, and to get a big spool that I can put in a desktop dispenser.

@n6cta haha sure, I’d love to see what you found down the rabbit hole. No promises that I’ll actually be able to make any purchases right now.
@n6cta a Chameleon MPAS 2 with a IC-705 at 10w out. I’ve made contacts with FT8 just fine with the same setup, but maybe I’m being too naive with running a low power station.
