2/2 : For context, I’m a photographer with heavy Lightroom and Photoshop use, and currently now working in Architecture with software that uses the computer’s resources much heavier than Adobe apps. I can run Revit in Windows via Parallels on a MacBook Air and design all I like without much trouble at all. I do want to order a Mac Studio once they’re updated with the M5 Max but I fully expect and believe it will last 10 years without a sweat. 2/2 #askatp @atpfm
1/2 : Has apple silicon changed the way we use computers? Once upon a time we used to upgrade ram, change a GPU or CPU, but these days is it actually that necessary? We like to complain that the SSDs and RAM on Macs are soldered down and can’t be upgraded—but do we need to? My last MacBook Pro lasted 7 years (now used as secondary Mac), and my MacBook Pro before that was 11 years. I’m now on an M3 Air and have never felt the need to upgrade components. 1/2 #askatp @atpfm
