Point Reyes was a particularly good spot for high seas radio receive stations. The USGC still maintains its Pacific coast station (NMC) just a bit to the north of KPH, and AT&T, until 1999, had its marine radiotelephone receiving station (KMI) just to the south. Sadly, KMI's beautiful sign has been removed.
