I was never part of a union before coming to NPR but quickly learned the power of colleagues helping each other to be treated fairly at work!!!

Facebook and Twitter have heard most of this story but I have been having a wild time with my neighbors. Like "they made a land grab and I had to file charges and take them to court" wild. Eventually I want to tell the story, maybe as a comic.
It ties into my thoughts about how hard it is to be a Black landowner in the US. Which also ties into how 1% of US farmers are Black.
And it seems like a lot of birds! Let me tell you, a lot of thoughts have led me to this number, and it's an okay number?? It feels like a lot but it's within the amount I'm allowed to have on the property I own. SO IT'S FINE.
