En este rol, Drescher lideró en 2023 la huelga de actores más larga en la historia de la industria de Hollywood, la cual se extendió por 118 días tras el colapso de las negociaciones con la Alianza de Productores de Cine y Televisión (AMPTP).

La gestión de Drescher se ha centrado en la actualización de los contratos para responder a los cambios estructurales impuestos por el modelo de negocio del streaming y la implementación de la Inteligencia Artificial. Bajo su liderazgo, el sindicato demandó protecciones específicas contra la replicación digital de la imagen y voz de los artistas, argumentando que las cláusulas vigentes eran insuficientes frente al avance tecnológico. Antes de su incursión en el activismo laboral de alto nivel, Drescher fundó en 2007 la organización sin fines de lucro Cancer Schmancer Movement, tras haber sido diagnosticada con cáncer de útero en el año 2000. Su labor en salud pública se enfoca en la detección temprana mediante la educación sobre síntomas ginecológicos y la incidencia en políticas federales para la salud de la mujer.
