These whispers of a draft wouldnāt have anything to do with the attempts from the govt. trying to get their hands on voting records, would it? Or that theyāve also been trying to get rid of mail in voting?
My fear is that theyād target people that didnāt vote for them and ship them off during elections.
Does anyone have experience themselves, or have links to blog posts about switching from the Apple (and/or Google) ecosystem to other options?
My family and I are pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem, but have been wanting to break free of that dependence. I'd love to hear about other people's experiences with what was easy, what was hard, and if there was anything that you found you couldn't break free from.
Once the redesigned Polestar 2 comes out and starts looking like the other Polestar models (3, 4 and 5), I think Iām going to start referring to the original design as Volestarsā¦or Polevos. Because the look is close to Volvo cars (and in fact have Volvo branded parts).

@cyberseckyle Great choice and spot on assessment. Love the look of it, especially that it's not just a flat sticker-looking decal slapped onto a case. It's got depth! And, as you said, it also provides good protection, feels nice in the hand, and doesn't scratch easily (or, if it does I didn't see too many on mine).
My only gripe is that it's really tough to get out of the case...though, that's probably a good thing! š
Oh hi! Itās been awhile. I was over on Bluesky because:
1. My friends who ditched Twitter landed there and despite my best efforts to get them all the way over to Mastodon they didnāt make it here (for various reasons).
2. I was under the impression (tricked?) that Bluesky would eventually become a fully federated platformā¦but that doesnāt appear to be the case.
Iām back because for reasons I hope because clearer soon, Bluesky is starting to give me the āickā. Call it a premonition.
I wonder if people pleased with headlines like this are mistaking "probationary employees" for "probation" in criminal law sense of the word.
Like, are there people out there thinking these are all just convicted criminals being targeted? Spoiler alert: they aren't!
Iām skilled in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI, and Iām searching for a job that leverages those abilities.
Itās frustrating to see "iOS Developer" job postings that require React and JavaScript instead of all the native iOS stuff.
Is my frustration unjustified?
Is it reasonable to expect someone who says they are an iOS Developer might only have experience with JavaScript (React Native) and not Swift or Objective-C (UIKit, SwiftUI)?
