@eric_capuano your point about MFA is what I’m curious about as the blog post does not seem to mention it unless I’ve missed it. Is MFA required to access the exfiltrated vaults in this case? Or are we only relying on the Master Password and MFA for the accounts present in the vault instead?
@postmodern Public keys are meant to be shared so definitely not PII or sensitive data imo.
@AndrewDavidson In case it helps, you could share a picture of your Mastodon profile on Twitter. That is unlikely to be blocked or removed. As for who to follow, here is a GitHub repository that has a self-reported list of academics in various fields from anthropologists, to journalists to info sec practitioners! https://github.com/nathanlesage/academics-on-mastodon. This is not comprehensive but should get you started! Be sure to boost anything you want folks to see as a like on Mastodon is functionally just a bookmark and doesn’t increase a posts visibility.

@mastodonusercount Looks like another spike in users. Someone should make an infographic showing how each peak correlates with Musk’s actions.

@zorinlynx I've not yet gotten a sense of how folks feel about this on the Fediverse but I would actually like for large organizations to come over. Some value from the bird app was being able to report problems or get support via DMs. Them and large "content creators" are what I feel is missing.

But I know I'm in the minority because I feel more generally that advertising isn't an issue, the data that was being gathered to target the ads was.

@ian manchego!
@GossiTheDog @malwaretech @zlasha @jerry a lot of journalists landed on Mastodon already. This isn’t comprehensive but here’s a spreadsheet with a list in case it helps. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13No4yxY-oFrN8PigC2jBWXreFCHWwVRTftwP6HcREtA/edit

@GossiTheDog @jerry I'm kind of surprised how seamless it has been. Huge thanks to @jerry for being an absolute rockstar.

Did you know the US government signed a treaty with the Cherokee to give them a representative in Congress? Or that seating that delegate, who has been named, is a live issue and was the subject of a congressional hearing last week?

If you want to see an absolutely fascinating exploration of how to right a wrong, with detours into American history and constitutional law, with brilliant testimony from the Cherokee nation and the foremost experts, watch this hearing.
