What an amazing week at the Charleston Library conference
#chsconf2024
in beautiful Charleston. Encouraging conversations with library consortia who think open infrastructures for academic books are important! Fantastic to see and talk with so many good colleagues from around the world.
I return from this thorough, insightful and friendly workshop in Cape Town https://openbookcollective.pubpub.org/pub/towards-sustainable-open-access-book-publishing-in-the-african-context-workshop-programme/release/13 with a much better understanding of the #openaccess landscape in sub saharan Africa and how the Directory of Open Access Books could support developments towards #OA book publishing in the region. Thanks to our friends at the UCT Libraries for excellent and kind hosting!
