Totality from Texas. We chased the 2017 Eclipse and were disappointed. We stayed home and the clouds cleared! The coolest part was the scintillations on the ground, known as shadow bands, that made the concrete look like it was moving. Didn’t see that last time!

We had to say goodbye to our dear Apollo tonight. He was only seven but evidently had heart issues. He was a good, if spicy, cat. He will be missed dearly.

We've been coming to Destin for years and now own a couple places across the street from the beach. But we've never really ventured inland. Until recently, we didn't know how many natural springs the Florida panhandle contains. Yesterday, we visited one (Cypress Springs in Vernon, FL) via Kayak and it was amazing! 67 degrees year round.

Someone thinks it's cold in Texas.
