i had some very uncomfortable realisations about how much my not wanting to be an inconvenience was causing me harm when i had a broken ankle and had to be an inconvenience to function
anyway it's hard and i'm still not great at it but i have been practicing saying no and setting boundaries and expressing wants and needs and it does get better
turns out he managed to pick up a parasite infection, despite being indoor only and the only pet in the household
most likely thing seems to be that a lizard got inside and he ate it?
he's on medication for it and seems to be on the mend, but the whole ordeal has really knocked him around so things are going slowly
took him back to the vet today for a checkup and to take some bloods
he hasn't gotten any better but he hasn't gotten any worse
we won't know more until monday probably but the vet did very gently let us know that it's likely to be something Serious so... mentally preparing myself for that while trying to stay optimistic
